SLEEP SEMINAR

We all do it and we’d all like a little more.

In today’s rapid paced world, many of us are walking around suffering sleep deprivation, or are we?

How much sleep is enough?
What can you do to monitor my own sleep patterns?

What happens to my body and performance if I don’t get enough sleep?

Find out the answers to these questions and more at our

SLEEP SEMINAR

Led by our own Cell athlete and ultra-marathon runner, Ian Dunican, this seminar will focus on the importance of sleep upon physiological and mental performance.

Wednesday 9 November, 7.30pm

Points to be covered:
– Sleep science
– Monitoring your own sleeping patterns
– How much sleep is enough
– The effects of acute and chronic sleep loss
– Can you survive on less than 5 hours sleep a night
– Do I need less sleep the older I get
– How does adequate sleep affect training performance

Ian’s Qualifications:
– Masters in Business Administration
– Bachelor of Arts in Education
– Advanced Diploma in OHS
– Graduate Cert in Mining Engineering
– Currently undertaking a PhD in Medicine (Harvard & Monash University) – Title = Technology interventions and sleeping disorders in the mining industry
3 years in OHS specializing in sleep, fatigue management in human factors
