Led by our own Cell athlete and ultra-marathon runner, Ian Dunican, this seminar will focus on the importance of sleep upon physiological and mental performance.

Wednesday 9 November, 7.30pm

Points to be covered:
– Sleep science
– Monitoring your own sleeping patterns
– How much sleep is enough
– The effects of acute and chronic sleep loss
– Can you survive on less than 5 hours sleep a night
– Do I need less sleep the older I get
– How does adequate sleep affect training performance

Ian’s Qualifications:
– Masters in Business Administration
– Bachelor of Arts in Education
– Advanced Diploma in OHS
– Graduate Cert in Mining Engineering
– Currently undertaking a PhD in Medicine (Harvard & Monash University) – Title = Technology interventions and sleeping disorders in the mining industry
3 years in OHS specializing in sleep, fatigue management in human factors
