Sunday 5 December 2010

Posted by The Coach on December 4th, 2010

These perhaps have been named commandments not because they are rules for us to follow or abide by, but simply for many to be able to relate to these American Indian principles or guidelines to living through reference and familiarity via their own Abrahamic religions or cultures. I ask you not to abide by each principle, but rather I ask you to sincerely listen, observe and deeper analyse yourself what these 10 principles of living mean to you. Can you adopt them within your own life? Perhaps not all, perhaps just one of them? Perhaps you would simply like to read them regularly, absorb and contemplate your own connection to the Earth; the platform for all life which allows you to function in the way you do… I ask you, if one of these principles of living appeal to you, search deeper for your own meaning, make it yours and realise the integrated ecology of Earth and all its inhabitants. We as humans are not commanders, but merely co-occupiers & co-custodians. SS.

    Jacobs ladder with the gang

    Partnered WOD (me with Joe)

4 rds up/down Jacobs with 1 partner running while other either (a) held 10kh plate ohd or (b) planks for duration. Any rests had to be no more than 10 secs and meant 10 burpees to be done at end in addition to yr partners burpees (!!). We had 60 burpees which were a killer and I was glad when this lady chased us off her manicured lawn and i got a rest and chance to finish them in the shade over the road

Great work by everyone that was at Jacob’s this morning! Very impressed!

We teamed up and the following was completed for time:

P1 would be running the ladder
    P2 would hold a 10kg plate overhead
    Then switch when P1 returns
Alternate overhead plate hold with hovers
For a total of 4 ladders each team member.

    RULES:
If you broke the overhead hold or hover a penalty of 5 burpees would be given at the end, if P1 accumulated 20 burpees, and P2 accumulated 15 burpees, then 35 burpees each would be perfomed at the end of the ladder runs.

To finish a run up cliff st and burpees to be done at grass area…

I met Jacob this morning for the first time. Think I’m in love! πŸ˜‰

LOVED this morning’s WOD but especially enjoyed getting up early on a Sunday morn and meeting my fav people at such a beautiful place!

Was partnered with Elliot. We accumulated a penalty of 10 burpees in total and finished in 28:42min. Thanks Elliot, was lots of fun!

If you happen to visit Jacob, when you’re at the top, be sure to run to the grassed area around the corner just outside the tall apartment building and push out some burpees. When the grumpy troll disguised as an old lady comes out to yell at you, tell her the Cell sent ya!

Andrew – no problem, sorry for making you hold the OH 10kg and the Plank so long – my apologies as well but aren’t the burpees fun. I too was very happy with the miserable old troll climbed out from under the Big Thermos near Kings Park.

The WOD, that was supposed to be; First a big thank you to my lovely daughter Zoe, who sacrificed her bike ride and me running to see her dad be punished on the stairs. No really thanks!

First trip – down full stairs up and about half way back up – legs decided they didn’t want to play anymore. Second trip scaled to 3/4, Third & Forth scaled to 1/2 distance. Racked up 20 Burpees – in rest penalties. After the WOD, I can say it was a lovely morning and the w/o and breaky were fantastic. Thanks to all!
