    Hi Guys

    End of the working week for some with one more day of training to come to round off the training week.

    On the 9th of October The Cell is holding the Smoker Challenge, before I flew to sunny Darwin I checked the board and we had quite a few athletes registered. WooHoo

    I would like to see that number double I know that some of you may have work commitments, children playing sport and so on but it is only an hour max out of your day.
    Or it may be that you are just darn CHICKEN (clucking sounds :))

    We all know how much I love running and how natural I am at it
    (my mum just broke into hysterical laughter) and with my weight hovering around 69 kg’s that puts my front squat as recommended at 51kg.(I wish I weighed as much as Junior Nik at this time)

    But I will be there facing the rack with a look of trepidation as my legs are about to get SMOKED (hence the name of the challenge) and praying that I donโ€™t fall flat on my face as I head out for the run part.

    There is some great prize money up for grabs in each of the categories none of which I am entitled to, and increases as more athletes register.

    It can only be a success with the participation of you our athletes these challenges are set for numerous reason all revolving around YOU guys.

    So what do you say, no one has anything to lose but everything to gain, besides the physical discomfort for a short period of time, you will love it the feeling of achievement and hanging out with people who support and sweat with you.

    I will be back on deck Monday and will personally asking everyone who is not participating WHY, there will be some legitimate reasons and some lame ones. So you may want to get in early and post here today if you are taking up the challenge or the reason you are not.

    Bliss is having her hens party on that day and if it wasnโ€™t for her ankle I can bet you she would be there, Anth is out of action but I can bet he will be there cheering athletes on with the same passion as usual.

    Did I write this to get some action from you YES

    I am passionate about The Cell and about what we do and want this challenge and everything else we do to be the best it can be.

    as rx’ed 8:31

    reasonably happy with back2back rope climbs sans mat

    then some handstand practice with pete (#2)

    Great focus in the gym this morning, and it was inspiring to see Andrew climb that rope like a monkey, good work mate.

    Haven’t done thrusters in ages… did all sets unbrocken (just) so was happy with that.

    Hi Everyone,

    I have just been going thru the last few days posts and thank you for some much needed inspiration / motivation. you are all kicking butt!!!
    I have been taking care of my back ( minor disc bulge in lower back ) and I am about 3-4 weeks into a 6-8 week rest which is continually playing on my mind as it feels like it will never end.
    Missing training / seeing you all and will hopefully come down to walk a few laps of the 1.6k cct tomorrow morning.

    Storm, you can bet I will be there on the 9th, I wouldn’t miss it.

    Anth you are Mint, thank you for your support.

    I understand your frusteration but time is the best healer of serious or potentially serious injuries. You will come away from this knowing your body better which will result in you not being in this position again.

    As for all our other athletes I am still waiting for some responses in regards to my post above.
    You cant miss it, nearly as big as ‘War and Peace’.

    WU – 800m Row, Mobility & 2x CFWU

    WOD – Scaled thrusters to 40kg & did 4 rope climbs including a fall, then scaled did 8 scaled rope climbs.
    Hands are all blistered up now, lost a lot of skin from my inner thighs. Fun fun ๐Ÿ˜›
    Not sure on time but was pretty slow due to the rope climbs, plenty of room for improvement.

    Storm – The boys and I are unable to confirm one way or another re. smoker challenge atm due to a number of family circumstances that are taking priority. It’s Nikkolas’s Birthday on the 9th and I know if he can he would like to be there…with the rest of us in tow of course. xx
