Sunday 04 July 2010

Posted by The Coach on July 3rd, 2010

Life is like a wild tiger. You can either lay down and let it lay its paw on your head – Or sit on its back and ride it… Ride the wild Tiger.

Fantastic effort Storm, Craig and Luke, wish I could have been there to not just see it but to compete along side you all. The very detailed post (Thanks Storm) makes me feel not quite so far away.
I didn’t realise the not laying down thing had such purpose, and vow never to lay down again. Although there was that one time when I almost fainted, so I reserve the right to sit on my arse when gravity and restricted blood flow combine.
Missing my daily dose of Cell, I have a date with “Lynne” tonight will give “Randy” a red hot crack on Monday night.

Sitting down is fine Jase. Laying down is submissive in the animal kingdom and signifies defeat.

To quote in part from “Invictus” by Henley “my head is bloodied, but unbowed”

    Never, ever lay down.

    Jase 🙂

Then a 1hr road ride at an easy pace.

Trained Bec, then as she wasn’t happy with a first up effort on one of the WOD’s we did it again but I joined in as the rabbit.

    Muscle Up, 5 reps
    Dble Under, 30 reps
    Rounds: 4 + Muscle Ups + 15 Dble Unders

Adrian was there too giving Bec a run for her money.

    Jase 🙂

    Excellent quote and poem Jase.

Today I decided that I would test out the ankle and give normal skipping a try. It felt ok, so…of course…I gave double unders a go intermittently with normal skips. F**king Happy days my double unders were back! So excited with that progress was I, that I decided to do a little WOD.

Thank you Storm, Stef, Jase, Steve and Kate, you all have really helped me in the last few weeks. I appreciate your time and patience. 🙂

    6 rounds
    10 Double Unders
3 Ring Pullups – Not fun
10 Single Leg Dead Lifts – 16kg – I find these good for stabilising core and ankle – Thanks Steve for this exercise.
