    My favourite quote, totally unrelated to today’s discussion but with Police Rememberance Day on Tuesday I think it is timely.

    And this is a huge problem with today’s Police (Force??) and society in general. People do not sleep peaceably in their beds anymore and we don’t have rough men standing ready to do violence on their behalf.

    We have the men, and women, but they are hamstrung by legislation, policy, procedure and do-gooders who have no idea what it’s like to be attacked in your own home by some low-life piece of scum that has never worked for a living nor taken any responsibility for their actions.

    When young fella’s knew they’d get a clip around the ear for playing up we never had the problems we do now. Crims knew that if they got caught, they got caught and they’d expect what they got. Now 95% of people try to fight you, spit at you, no one takes responsibility for their actions and they abuse the shit out of everyone and then complain when you’re rude to them.

    Mutual respect. That would be nice.

    And I love that quote Gusman. Excellence is a habit, no doubt.

    Hey Pete,

    Just wondering if you have had much success/experience treating hayfever. Mine is pretty bad and I get next to zero relief from otc medication. If you have any ideas I’ll make an appt to see you this week. BTW it is bad enough to wake me up several times a night.

    Yep Steve, I am very confident in the natural management of hayfever.

    Here are some tips –

    Avoid mucus forming foods – Dairy, sugar, alcohol, juice.
    These foods are more likely to cause the inflamed mucosa of the sinus passages to produce more mucus, which leads to more irritation.

    Drinking 2 ltrs of plain water daily can help the mucosa flush away the inflammation. This will only happen if you are not taking medicines like Rhinostat which effectively stops the draining of the sinuses and therefore prolong an attack.

    At least 5 grams of vitamin C daily is usually required to help the body reduce the inflammation in the sinuses.

    paleo stylins:
    breakfast: bacon + eggs + coffee
    lunch: chicken, ricotta and spinach snags (ricotta isn’t paleo)
    snack: pistachios + coffee

    and right now i’ve got a 2.5kg piece of beef brisket smoking in the weber!

    activity: mowing the lawn, rocking out to guns and roses

    somehow forgot about lunch – was washing the dogs n giving em a haircut
    snack: drumstick icecream
    about to make some paleo cookies….

    Absolutely gorgeous sunny day today! Hope everyone enjoyed the sunshine. 🙂

    Breakfast – boiled egg, tangelo, almonds
    Morning Tea – jerky, pecans
    Lunch – Prawns, Carrot & Coconut Salad
    Afternoon Tea – Green Apple, Almonds
    Dinner – Chicken & Vegetable Soup, Prawns

    Today’s food:

    Breakfast (9am) – Omelette with fried banana, walnuts and cinnamon
    Snack (12pm) – Sliced tuna, two paleo banana nut bites
    Snack (3pm) – egg sandwiches, with lettuce instead of bread. A small piece of birthday cake and a mini mars bar 😮 Not at all paleo but, hey, it was my brother’s birthday.
    Dinner (7pm) – leftover mince with veggies and guacamole, a couple of banana nut bites and some dried fruit.

    Paleo eating – 1 week in

    8.30am Snack
    1 x egg, 1 x apple 6 x almonds

    1pm Brunch
    Ate out, managed to get, egg white omlette with 1 x yolk + veggies + smoked salmon & avocado & 1 x freshly pressed apple juice

    6.30pm Dinner
    chicken, brocolli, cauliflower, cabbage, carrot, onion, zuchini, tomato, pinenuts stirfry & blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, almonds, coconut milk + dates & walnuts

    Activity:
    Rest Day (phew!) walked dogs for 40mins

    Notes: Felt much fuller today after yesterdays fab dinner and ate really well for brunch (good choice for eating out, Phil had steak sandwich and chips + a coconut cake)

    Today’s paleo, not much better then yesterdays 😦

    Breakfast: Bacon and Eggs
    Snack: Banana x2
    Lunch: Steak + Salad
    Snack: Mini Pizza
    Dinner: BLT Sandwich, Chunky Steak Pie
    Drink: Lost count but from what I can remember, 1x strawberry daquari, 2x pina colada, 1x vodka coke, 10-12 crown largers.
    Activity: 5 hours dancing

    Made for a good birthday celebration 🙂 Got no more big weekends planned so I’ll have to do an extra week for the paleo, but hopfully contiune the syle of eating into the future anyway.
